BOOKS – FICTION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the year the Witford Market Mysteries gets released! Oh yes! Book One is in first edit, Book Two (part-written for NaNoWriMo last year) is about quarter written, Book Three is planned, and Book Four might be the Christmas episode I\u2019ve written and abandoned several times. The problem has been that I want the Christmas episode to come out just before… Christmas. I know. Crazy, huh? So the Christmas story has been the first, then the second, then the first again, and now it\u2019s going to be 3rd or 4th. The problem is that in the first book, you are introducing your characters for the first time. So there\u2019s more back story exposition, the relationships between the characters is different, and the conflict and tensions are different. So yeah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve emptied the well of short fiction I have, and I\u2019m unlikely to write sufficient quantities to make another collection anytime soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

And there\u2019s a crime thriller story, stand-alone, which has been written (badly), which I feel has a great premise. It\u2019s also a Christmas story, so there\u2019s a thought in the back of my mind to finally get that rewritten and released for Christmas 2024. That would be fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BOOKS – NON-FICTION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time of writing, I don\u2019t have any plans to write any more non-fiction books. I should do, because they always sell well, but there\u2019s nothing I\u2019m currently working on which would look good in a published book form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BUSINESSES \/ TUTORING \/ PROJECTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m going to continue to offer my author services. Several people have been in touch with me and have promised to send some business my way next year, which is great. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And in the meantime, I\u2019ll remain open for ideas and suggestions and requests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We do have another bid in to the Arts Council for another children\u2019s project, which we\u2019re very excited about, and hope to be able to spend the middle of next year planning that, with a view to launching it for schools next September. Wish us luck!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VLOGS \/ VODCASTS \/ PODCASTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do want to do more with video next year. I don\u2019t know what that will be. A writing vlog isn\u2019t that interesting to people. I know that. But at the moment, I don\u2019t know what would attract a larger audience, which remains writing and creativity related.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ONLINE COURSES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m interested in creating courses. It\u2019s a lot of work, and although I created the Efficient Novelist Programme https:\/\/gerald-hornsby.com\/efficient-novelist-programme\/<\/a> there wasn\u2019t a lot of take-up from my initial marketing. To me, it seems a brilliant idea, a way to create novels more efficiently, with benefits to readership and royalty income, but many writers don\u2019t like this idea – the ethos of being an author means that output needs to be crafted and honed over many, many months – otherwise, it\u2019s no good. I don\u2019t agree with that, obviously, but it\u2019s a hard sell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m looking forward to this coming year with eager anticipation. I hope to be able to be publishing at least 3 novels, and maybe 5 this coming year.
